Texas County’s unemployment rate increased in June, but it remained one of the lowest figures in a 12-county area in south-central Missouri, the Missouri Department of Economic Development said.
The number was 8.6 percent, which was an increase of six-tenths of a percentage point from May. The average in the region was 9.5 percent, the state said.
Area counties and their jobless rates: Douglas, 9.9; Howell, 9.8; Shannon, 11.2; and Wright, 10.3.
