Brad Pounds had a pair of hits to lead the JV Tigers past Ava 6-5 Thursday.
Cody Campbell allowed three hits for the win.
Brandon Belt, Kaleb Poynter, Ty Foster, Nathan McCarty and Campbell all had hits for Houston.
Earlier in the week against Cabool, Belt and Kenny Barton had two hits each in a 7-6 loss to the Bulldogs.
Barton took the loss on the mound.
