Texas County taxpayers have until March 1 to submit 2009 personal property and business assessment lists to the county assessor.
Under state law, taxable property includes motor vehicles, boats, trailers, livestock, farm machinery and business-related equipment.
The assessment lists are the basis of 2009 personal and business property tax bills, which county residents and business owners receive in November. County Assessor Debbie James’ office mailed lists to county residents earlier.
Residents and business owners who did not receive an assessment list should call the assessor’s office at 417-967-4709 or visit the office at the Texas County Administrative Center in downtown Houston.
