A Beulah man was seriously hurt Monday afternoon when his vehicle ran off Highway K near the Texas and Phelps County line.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said John H. Willbanks, 59, was westbound on the road when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway before reentering it again. The vehicle later ran off the right side of the highway and struck a tree.
Willbanks, who was wearing a seat belt, was flown to St. John’s hospital in Springfield.
The patrol said his 2005 Pontiac was totaled.
The mishap occurred about 5.3 miles west of U.S. 63, said the patrol.
