Houston police found a confused West Plains woman waiting for a ride Sunday in the Houston Wal-Mart parking lot.
Officers cited Crystal T.L. Orr, 29, of West Plains with trespassing and shoplifting after spotting her. Police said they found the suspect dazed after “huffing” cans of dust remover that had been taken from the store.
Among the items missing were an MP3 player, perfume, socks and headphones worth about $165.
Police said Orr, who told lawmen she was waiting for Waylon Jennings to pick her up, had been caught shoplifting three times in the last 30 days at West Plains Wal-Mart.
In other matters, police:
-Cited Wesley K. Fortune, 19, of Raymondville, with failing to yield the right-of-way on Dec. 3. Fortune pulled from a stop sign on westbound Brushy Creek Road and was attempting a left turn onto southbound U.S. 63 when he struck a vehicle operated by James T. Lawson, Jr., 22, of West Plains.
-Charged Angela D. Grogan, 37, of 219 E. Pine, with following too closely on Dec. 6 following an accident at U.S. 63 and Grand Avenue. Grogan struck a truck driven by James D. Garrett, 70. Grogan told police she thought the other driver had pulled the vehicle forward.
-Cited Bradley C. McKee, 35, of North Rose, N.Y., with following too closely and operating a motor vehicle while operator’s license suspended on Dec. 4. McKee struck an SUV in the rear operated by Diane E. Pierce, 39, of 8289 U.S. 63, as she was making a turn into a driveway near U.S. 63 and Sommerfield Drive.
-Arrested Talika M. Farr, 21, of Cabool, on a Ripley County warrant charging her with second-degree assault. She was unable to post $20,000 bond and was taken to the county jail. She also had an active Macon County warrant charging her with operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid license.
-Cited Cheryl R. Reeder, 36, of Licking, with improper “u” turn on Dec. 5. The move resulted in her vehicle striking a truck driven by Darin E. Walker, 43, of 8065 Mineral Drive.
-Cited Lisa M. Christ, 46, of 810 Augusta, with disturbance of private peace on Dec. 4.
-Charged Christine L. Strong, 20, of Bucyrus, with shoplifting Dec. 6 at Houston Wal-Mart. Taken were head wraps and socks worth $5.
