The Houston High School junior varsity football team won 12-0 Monday night at Cabool.
After the two teams battled through a scoreless first half, the Junior Tigers scored twice in the second half. Houston scored 6 points on a rushing touchdown by sophomore running back PJ Mister, and added another 6 when sophomore defensive back Zack Fuwell recovered a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown.
The JV Tigers travel to Thayer on Monday.
Last Thursday at Ava, the Houston Middle School football teams were each defeated, as the eighth-grade squad lost 24-8 and the seventh-graders were blanked 32-0.Â
J.J. Hebblethwaite scored for Houston’s eighth-grade team on a three-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Hebblethwaite then ran in the two-point conversion. John Kimrey had an interception on defense.
Jordan Arthur also recorded had an interception for the Tiger seventh-grade team.
The HMS squads travel to Mountain View this week for Thursday games against Liberty.
