A little help from downtown merchants will send grant dollars into the community.
Downtown Houston Inc. is nearing completion of work under a $360,000 grant that allowed for sidewalk improvements, new street lighting, street paving, crosswalks, water drainage and many other improvements have been completed.
The organization said the community stands to benefit because the grant will match dollar-for-dollar any capital expenditures made by property owners or businesses over the course of the last year.
Persons only need to make a copy of the invoice and send it to Elaine Campbell, development director, City of Houston, 601 S. Grand Ave., Houston, Mo. 65483. The paperwork will be used to tap the additional funds.
The final goal is $100,000 for the final matching funds and must be completed by Dec. 30.
