Pleasant Valley Productions, a division of Back40Group, will be conducting screen tests for those wishing to be added to their stable of models for use in producing 30 second to 5 minute commercials and how-to videos for use on the Internet. Screen tests will be conducted on a scheduled basis.
Herman Beck, Pleasant Valley’s executive producer, said the company is looking for a wide variety of people to make product presentations for e-commerce stores and how-to videos for Web sites.
“We are looking for children 8 and older, teens of all ages and styles, farm boys and girls, attractive models of either sex, ordinary folks, grandpa and grandma, and even Ozark hillbillies and rugged outdoor types,” Beck said. “Special training in modeling or acting is fine, but we are looking for ‘real people’ that customers will identify with.
“First, we need to receive photos of people who are interested along with details such as height, weight, any special talents such as speaking a foreign language, the Ozark dialect or even juggling.”
The non-returnable photographs and other pertinent information (including phone number) should be mailed to: Screen Test, Pleasant Valley Productions, Box 8, Hartshorn, Mo. 65479, no later than July 31. No telephone calls or personal visits will be accepted before a preliminary review of materials supplied by mail.
Successful first round submitters will be notified and asked to schedule a screen test at Pleasant Valley’s Studio. The screen test will consist of video taping each applicant reading text from a teleprompter, showing off a product or explaining a procedure. A director will work with the auditioner to help them make a professional quality sample. Auditions can be scheduled around an applicant’s work schedule.
“We hope to be able to offer our clients up to a dozen people to choose from,” Beck said.
Those selected will be placed on the PVP website where customers can choose their ‘on-air’ personality. Those selected will be paid as private contractors by the job. Compensation rates will begin at a minimum of $100 per minute based on on-screen time. The company will also be looking for audio only talent as well,” he said.
