Lucretia Miller Lewis, 77, daughter of Robert L. and Helen Flowers Miller, was born Sept. 27, 1930, in the Rocky Branch community. She died July 10, 2008, at New Boston, Texas, after a lingering illness.

She was a member of the Texas City Baptist Church and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband, John; daughters, Brenda of Portland, Ore., and Connie of Dallas, Texas; one son, John P. of Texas City, Texas; three sisters, Hazel Hicks of Houston, Joyce Slatner of Salem, Wis., and Erma Gaddy of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; two brothers, Bob and C.L. “Moe” Miller of Houston; Jim Boswell of Houston; and two grandsons.

Services were July 13 at the Bates Roff Chapel in New Boston, Texas, with Eastern Star services following. Burial was in the College Hill Cemetery at DeKalb, Texas.
