Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will honor veterans with its 13th annual
Salute a Veteran Blood Drive. It will be celebrated at all CBCO drives and donor centers from June 16 through July 6.
Participants in any CBCO blood drive during Salute a Veteran will receive a free T-shirt, which features a custom “stamp” design and patriotic theme. Donors may also write a note of thanks or greeting to a current or former service member. Donors need to bring the address of the person to which the card will be sent. CBCO will pay for postage and the distribution of that card to a favorite current or former soldier. Persons who would like to dedicate their donation but don’t have anyone particular in mind, CBCO will send a message to a current U.S. Armed Forces member stationed overseas.
The annual drive occurs at a time in which blood shortages occur often.
“This drive is important for so many reasons,” said Don Thomson, CBCO executive director. “We hold this drive to honor our veterans for the sacrifices that they made to keep us free. We also hold this drive to honor blood donors, who continue to save lives each and every day. I hope that folks will continue the tradition to give life to their community and honor veterans by taking part in this special event.”
