Two area men were arrested and have confessed to stealing two different vehicles recently, Texas County Sheriff Carl Watson said. Another male was referred to juvenile authorities.

The thieves stole a vehicle from Dale Adey’s residence on Adey Road two weeks ago, Watson said, and drove it through fences before abandoning it two miles away.

They then walked to another location and swiped a two-ton flatbed truck owned by Raymond Garrett. The men took the vehicle to the Bear Claw area of Big Creek, where it was driven into the water. The truck was flooded with water before it was recovered.

Watson said the two adults confessed to the burglaries and will be charged when warrants are processed.

In other news, deputies:

– Recovered a Honda four-wheeler Wednesday off Highway VV near the Texas and Dent county line. The ATV was stolen Jan. 8 near Slabtown. Watson said a person was arrested and will be charged, pending a warrant.

– Were dispatched shortly before midnight Sunday to locate a missing boater from Boiling Springs. The person, who was unharmed, was located about 1:30 a.m. Monday approximately two miles above Boiling Springs.
