Shelbi Moore and Paulette Chernowsky knocked in two runs apiece during an eight-run sixth inning to lead the Houston Lady Tigers past Conway 10-3 Monday.

Houston, which trailed 3-2 entering the decisive sixth, sent 13 batters to the plate to blow the game open.

Moore went 2-for-3 with a pair of triples, two runs and two RBIs. Chernowsky was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two runs knocked in. Bethany Korte and Whitney Sillyman scored two runs apiece.

Moore’s two run triple in the sixth put Houston ahead 4-3, and Chernowsky’s two-run double gave the Lady Tigers a comfortable 6-3 advantage.

Amber Postlewait gave up 10 hits and three earned runs in the complete-game victory. She walked seven and struck out five.

After the first of two double plays helped Houston escape a jam in the top of the first, Korte led off the bottom half of the inning with a walk. She stole second and third base, then scampered home on a passed ball for a 1-0 lead.

Conway led 2-1 in the fourth when Moore tripled and scored on Lyndsay Tarrants’ RBI groundout to tie it.

Sillyman and xx Chambers singled in front of Moore’s sixth-inning triple. Moore and Tarrants, who walked, scored on Chernowsky’s double.
