Agnes Gaynell Amburn, 63, daughter of Ellie and Hettie Williford, was born April 27, 1944. She died March 25, 2008, at Springfield.

She married Carl Amburn March 15, 1972. Together they had seven children.

Mrs. Amburn worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods for more than 20 years.

She was a Christian woman of service and enjoyed preparing and cooking meals for loved ones. She liked to spend time in the garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Worth Williford; and sisters, Clarabell and Pearlnell.

Surviving are her husband of 36 years; children, Maurice Amburn of Tampa, Fla., Terry Amburn of St. Louis, Gloria Anderson of Columbus, Ohio, Glen Amburn of Dawsonville, Ga., Mandy Johnson and Carl Amburn Jr. of Raymondville and Tammy Holifield of Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, Runell Ignash of Columbus, Ohio, and Dianne White of Fayetteville, N.C.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were March 28 at the Boone Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Max Courtney officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
