The Houston Police Department said one person was arrested as part of an investigation into a crude, explosive-like device it uncovered Monday.
Its investigation continued on Tuesday.
The news sparked elevated security protocols at the Houston School District as a precaution. There was no risk and students were never in any danger, authorities said.
A series of posts on social media elevated concerns, and by that night the local police department had issued a statement.
