Kent Schmid, 58, of Mountain Grove entered a guilty plea Feb. 27 to charges of DWI, chronic offender and driving while revoked. He will serve five years on the first two charges; the sentences run concurrently.
Nicki L. Hill, 27, of Shelbina, entered a guilty Feb. 27, entered a guilty plea to operating a vehicle while her license was revoked. She received two years in prison, but the sentence was suspended in lieu of two years of supervised probation.
William A. Wilson, 21, of Houston, entered a guilty plea Feb. 27 to charges of tampering with a vehicle and property damage. He was sentenced to prison for four years, but the sentence was suspended in lieu of supervised probation.
Denver L. Morgan, 22, of Elk Creek, entered a guilty plea Feb. 27 to burglary. He was placed on supervised probation.
Jeffrey L. Piatt, 24, of Salem, entered a guilty plea Feb. 27 to possession of a controlled substance, except 35 grams or less of marijuana. Imposition of the sentence was suspended in lieu of four years of supervised probation.
Thomas Hines, 24, of Mountain Grove, entered a guilty plea Feb. 27 to possession of a controlled substance, except 35 grams or less of marijuana. Imposition of the sentence was suspended in lieu of four years of probation.
A guilty plea to operating a vehicle while his driver’s license was revoked drew a sentence of supervised probation.
Brandi J. Scotto, 21, of Houston, entered a guilty plea March 4 to a probation violation stemming from burglary and stealing charges. A sentence will result in a seven-year prison term.
Jeff Wakenight, 23, entered a guilty plea March 4 to violating his probation by charges of property damage, trespassing and unlawful use of a weapon. He was sentenced to four years in prison on the counts. The sentences run concurrently.
Michael Garrison of Licking was found guilty March 4 of violence to an employee of the Missouri Department of Corrections or to an inmate by an inmate, as well as assault with physical injury. In the former, the sentence is to run consecutive with his current sentence. In the latter charge, a fine of $1,000 is attached to his inmate account.
A Houston man surrendered his teacher’s license and has been sentenced to 15-day jail term after he entered a guilty plea to child endangerment, a misdemeanor.
Nick Leier originally was charged with sexual misconduct after he was accused of inappropriately touching two teenagers. Although the victims were students, the incidents did not occur on school property at School of the Osage, where Leier was a coach and teacher at the time. Leier was charged in March 2007. The allegations date to 2005 and 2006.
Leier is to serve his time in the Texas County Jail. He also was placed on two years of unsupervised probation.
