Bucklew was convicted of first-degree murder in 1997 after he shot and killed Michael Sanders, 27, at his mobile home in Cape Girardeau County. 

Attorneys for a man who is scheduled to die by lethal injection on Oct. 1 pleaded their case for clemency to Gov. Mike Parson’s staff on Monday in his Capitol office.
