Noema Eunice Holland Lewis, 77, daughter of John Daniel Holland and Viola Etta Hays Holland, was born Nov. 24, 1930, at Joy. She died Dec. 16, 2007, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.

She grew up in the Salem area and was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning and quilting. She frequently visited the nursing home and cooked food for the elderly and homebound.

She was saved and baptized at the age of 27 at the First Baptist Church in Licking. She was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church near Salem.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis; son, Jim Ray; two brothers, Buford and Sherill; and two sisters, Hazel Hatridge and Beatrice Schafer.

Surviving are her children, Ranay Stone and Max Ray of Branson, Charlene Climber of St. Peters, Suzanne Cox of Owensville and Amanda McHolland of Licking; one sister, Michaleen Parker of Hannibal; her adopted family, Juan and Arianny Luna and Samuel; lifelong friend, Joann Stewart; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 19 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with David Gidcumb officiating. Burial was in the Licking City Cemetery.
