Linda Murline Payne, 57, daughter of William Murl Johnson and Edna Mae Leach Johnson, was born Jan. 3, 1950, at Holcomb. She died Sept. 14, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
She married Harvey Don Payne Jan. 7, 1972. They had two children.
Mrs. Payne worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods when the family lived at Licking. Due to ill health, she had moved to West Plains to be near her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994.
Surviving are her children, Michelle Varnell and Clayton Murl Payne; her parents; one brother, Terry Johnson; and three grandchildren, all of the West Plains area.
Services were Sept. 18 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Payne and the Rev. Joey Hight officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery.
