Orba Lucille Hicks, 79, daughter of Andrew Jackson and Opal Orba Lewis Ice, was born Feb. 5, 1928, at Eunice. She died Sept. 11, 2007.

She grew up at Licking, where she lived her entire life.

She married Coy Willard Hicks June 30, 1955. They had three children.

Mrs. Hicks worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods for 43 years before retiring.

She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, quilting and embroidering and spending time with her family.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Licking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Troy Andy; and two sisters, Patsy Marie and an infant, Bonnie Lou.

Surviving are her husband; three children, Coyetta Lynn, David Hicks and Cathy Blankenship of Licking; 10 brothers and sisters, Neville Cook, Ruthene Cook, Dwayne Ice, Doyle Ice, Ida Jean Ice, Connie Keeney and Larry Ice of Licking, Pauline Land af Cabot, Ark., Lynn Ice of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Lonnie Ice of Camdenton; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were Sept. 13 at the Boone Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Max Courtney and the Rev. James Miller officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home of Licking.
