Austine Hobbs, 79, daughter of Austin and Lillian Skaggs Henderson, was born May 20, 1928, at Alexandrea, Ill. She died Sept. 23, 2007, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
She married Charles R. Kay in 1943, Donald Spikes in 1945 and Howard Hobbs in 1958. To each marriage, she had one child. She spent the last 20 years with her partner, Roy Dusenbery.
She loved watching TV and cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Bud Florie; her three husbands; a son, Charles Kay; a brother, Junie Florie; three sisters, Deloris Meyer, Joyce Guymon and Mary Smith; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Surviving are her son, Don Kay of Houston; daughter, Linda Chandler of Atlantic, Iowa; brother, Jim Florie of Quincy, Iowa; sister, Sandy Jones of Keokuk, Iowa; stepchildren, Leroy Hobbs, Bob Hobbs, Jack Hobbs and Sharon Scully; her partner of Houston; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren..
Services were Sept. 26 at the Roland Funeral Home Chapel in Atlantic, Iowa, with burial in the Atlantic Cemetery.
