Work will begin Saturday on the U.S. 63 bridge north of Cabool over the Big Piney River, the Missouri Department of Transportation announced.
The southbound lance will be closed, restricting traffic to one lane, as crews upgrade the bridge deck and install barrier curb. Temporary traffic signals will be in place to help guide traffic through the work zone.
The bridge work is part of the overall improvement project from the U.S. 63 and Business 60 intersection in Cabool ending at Highway U. The project, which is 3.4 miles, was awarded to Gaines Construction of Wentzville at nearly $2.2 million. Work in the area has been under way since early March and is expected to be complete in August.
Motorists are asked to exercise caution through the area as workers and equipment will be located on and near the bridge. For additional information regarding this or other transportation-related topics, contact the MoDOT Customer Service Center at 888-ASK MoDOT or e-mail d9csc@modot.mo.gov.
