Bessie Fowler, 89, daughter of James Sterling and Emma Jane Johnston Latham, was born Oct. 10, 1917, at Madison. She died Feb. 6, 2007, at Licking Park Manor.
She married Clarence Fowler in May 1935. They had five children.
Mrs. Fowler loved going to church and dinner afterward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers; and her husband Jan. 14, 1987.
Surviving are her five children, Bud Fowler of Ottawa, Kan., Howard Fowler and Wanda Hamby of Licking, Ron Fowler of Osage City, Kan., and Rheva Dean of Casper, Wyo.; one sister, Mary Jane Kerns of St. Louis; 57 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Feb. 9 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Harrington officiating. Graveside services were Feb. 10 at the Highland Cemetery at Ottawa, Kan.
