Denzil Lee Courtney, 67, son of Evan and Violet Cummins Courtney, was born Sept. 25, 1938, at Raymondville. He died Oct. 16, 2005, at Lincoln County Medical Center at Troy.He grew up in the Raymondville area and loved fishing and gardening. He enjoyed being with family and friends and telling jokes.He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-granddaughter.Surviving are his daughter, Janet Hampson; one brother, Robert Courtney; and four grandchildren.Graveside services were Oct. 17 at the Friendship Cemetery at Raymondville with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. “
