John William Mitchell, 74, son of Olga and Harrison Mitchell, was born Oct. 7, 1930, at El Centro, Calif. He died Jan. 24, 2005.He married Anna Mae Barnes December 1955. They had one daughter.Mr. Mitchell served in the Marines during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart and Silver Star.He worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft for 30 years, retiring in 1989 from its Mesa, Ariz., helicopter plant.He was an avid sports fan and had a life of service to God, his country, church and friends. For the last four years, the Mitchells spent their winters in Mesa.He was preceded in death by his parents.Surviving are his wife; daughter, Marlana Mitchell of Mesa, Ariz.; and Bruce and Betty Moran and their family.Services were Jan. 27 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Ragsdale officiating. Burial with full military honors was in the Licking Cemetery. “
