LeRoy “”Lucky”” Aldrich, 74, son of Ervin and Edna Bierman Aldrich, was born Jan. 20, 1930, at Centralia, Ill. He died June 7, 2004, at his home at Bucyrus. He served in the U.S. Army and was discharged Nov. 7, 1959. He married Carolyn Hart May 24, 1969. They celebrated their 35th anniversary in May. Mr. Aldrich was a heavy equipment operator. He retired in 1985, and the family moved to the Bucyrus area. The Aldrichs became a seed buying station associated with The Duncan Seed Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Alvin, who only lived three days. Surviving are his wife of the home; four children, Vicki Sherrard of Tennessee, Darrell Aldrich of Seymour and Cynthia Proffer and Jamie Blackorby of Bunkerhill, Ill.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services were June 10 at the Aldrich family cemetery at Bucyrus with the Rev. Terry Mathenia and Belva Tarrant officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. “
