Roger Lee Kelley, 64, son of George Oren Kelley and Katherine Elmore Kelley, was born Feb. 29, 1940, in the Cleveland community near Houston. He died April 4, 2004, at Tyler, Texas. He was a dairy and beef farmer in his early years. He later became owner and operator in a trucking business, where he hauled for FWA Trans. and Office Furniture USA. He enjoyed building utility trailers in his spare time. He was of the Baptist faith and had lived at Lindale and Smith County, Texas, for the last 19 years. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife, Judy Kelley of Lindale, Texas; son, Grant Lee Kelly of Chandler, Texas; stepson, Ed De Cora of Houston, Texas; stepdaughter, Dee Anne Crews of Lindale, Texas; mother of Kansas City; sister, Mellie Ann Weekes of Kansas City; and three grandchildren. Graveside services were April 7 at the Pine Lawn Cemetery at Houston with the Rev. Ben Gard officiating under the direction of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home of Tyler, Texas.
