Othel Obbie German, 87, son of Edd and Lottie Marrow German, was born Dec. 3, 1916, at Springfield. He died Feb. 14, 2004, at St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield. He married Eathyl Effie Brim March 18, 1940, at Houston. They were married 58 years before her death Nov. 1, 1998. They had one son. Mr. German was an electrician, wiring homes; did carpentry and worked in the local stone quarry. One of his carpentry jobs was helping build the Valley Center Baptist Church. He was a janitor at Angelica for more than 11 years before he retired. He passed his love and knowledge of farming to his son, Edward. He loved to tinker and fix broken items such as radios. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Surviving are his son, Edward, of Hartshorn; two step-grandsons and three step-great-grandchildren. Services were Feb. 17 at the Valley Center Baptist Church at Hartshorn with the Rev. Albert Steelman officiating. Burial was in the Valley Center Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville. “
