Barbee Dixon, 89, son of Evan and Mattie Lee Barbee Dixon, was born Jan. 1, 1913, at Licking. He died Dec. 4, 2002, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. He married Iva Elizabeth Davis Jan. 2, 1937. They had two children and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year. Mr. Dixon was a true cowboy. Gathering cattle and riding and breaking horses were his favorite past time. He always had a good horse; the latest Charlie; and a good cattle dog. He was a member of the Boone Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virginia Miller and Frances Krewson; and a granddaughter. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Rosalie Scott of Licking; one son, Jim Dixon of Eolia; three grandchildren and seven great-grand-children. Services were Dec. 7 at the Boone Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Raynor officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home. “
