Othel Clyde Odom, 95, son of Mack and Mary Elizabeth Stringer Odom, was born Oct. 14, 1905, at Summersville. He died April 5, 2001, at his home at Summersville. He married Pauline Norris Jan. 3, 1936. They were married 65 years and had four sons. Mr. Odom attended the Church of God of Prophecy at Summersville. He loved the outdoors, hunting, farming and gardening. He was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Richard, George and Eddy; and five sisters, Esther, Lilly, Mable, Norma and an infant sister. Surviving are his wife of Summersville; four sons, Cleo of West Plains, and Clive, Elzie and Darrell of Summersville; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Services were April 8 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Medley and the Rev. Stacey Pruett officiating. Burial was in the Summersville City Cemetery.”
