Keshia Kaye Burke, 9, daughter of Mike and Rita Burke, was born Oct. 5, 1991, at Covington, La. She died Jan. 27, 2001, in an automobile accident. See related story elsewhere. A native of Abita Springs, La., she had lived at Hartshorn for the last three years and was in the third grade at Summersville Elementary. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Trilby Jenkins and Clara Irene Burke. Surviving are her parents; grandfathers, Alfred Jenkins of Abita Springs, La., and Patrick Vincent Burke Jr. of LaCombe, La. Services are 11 o’clock Friday at the E.J. Fielding Funeral Home in Covington, La., with burial in Spencer Cemetery at Enon, La. A memorial balloon release will be held at a later date at Summersville. A memorial fund has been established at the Summersville Community Bank.”
