Jimmie Lee Carter, 60, son of Wesley Franklin and Lura Dessie Breedlove Carter, was born April 21, 1940, at Roby. He died Jan. 26, 2001, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. Mr. Carter was a member of the Roby Assembly of God. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gospel music and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Charles, Franklin and Leland. Surviving are two brothers, Herbert Carter of Roby and Wayne Carter of Kansas City; three sisters, Violet Newberry of St. Charles, Betty Clark of Hartville and Julia Welch of Phillipsburg. Services were Jan. 29 at the Roby Assembly of God with the Rev. Gary Garner officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.”
