Eddie Charles Peters, 83, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Houston House.
He was born March 8, 1936, in Van Buren, Ark., son of Edward and Elizabeth Moses Peters. He and Wanda Russell were married April 19, 1958.
He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age. He served in the Army from Sept. 18, 1958, to Sept. 16, 1960. He loved America and was honored to have served. He flew his flag in honor of the Armed Forces.
He was a builder of boats, homes and constructed large buildings in the states of Arkansas and Texas. He worked for Waldrop Construction in Brownwood, Texas, for 20-plus years until retirement at 62.
He lived in Washington, Texas and Arkansas. His travels included California, Oregon, Arizona and many more states he explored. His last travel was by plane to Hollywood, Calif., with his wife, Wanda.

He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar in church and at home. He loved reading the Bible and being with his family. He also loved math, working puzzles and watching Jeopardy! He enjoyed being outside gardening, caring for animals and spending time with his dog, Goldie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda; and two sisters, Lola Meadville, and Debbie Peters.
Survivors include a son, Michael Peters of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter; Pamela Kell of Raymondville; four grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Peters of Van Buren, Ark.; a sister, Maxine Peters Myers of Fort Smith, Ark.; and other family members.
Graveside services were Monday, May 11, in Pine Lawn Cemetery with Michael Peters officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
