Peggy Smith Allen, 86, of Florence, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.
She was born Dec. 29, 1932, in Texas County, daughter of Othello John and Eva Grace Brookshire Smith. She and Gerald “Jerry” Allen were married Jan. 15, 1973, in Miami, Okla.
She retired as an insurance clerk for Allstate Insurance Company.
She enjoyed puzzles, square dancing and rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Cleara Lee Steelman, James Lindwood Smith and Beluah Grace Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Jerry; three siblings, Colleen Marie Smith Medley, Eloise Elizabeth Smith Ward and Samuel Kenneth Smith; and many other relatives and friends.
No services are planned. Private burial will take place at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.
