Irene Moore, 94, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Houston House.

She was born May 12, 1924, in Houston, daughter of Glen and Minnie Hilton Hinkle. She and Boone Moore were married July 25, 1942.

She was saved and baptized early in life and attended church at Bucyrus Baptist and several churches in the neighborhood. She was faithful to her Lord and Savior all her life.

She and her husband, Boone, made their home in the Dykes area. Along with the dairy farm, she also worked for the dietary department at the Texas County Hospital, Browns Shoe factory and the Houston Schools cafeteria.

She loved to piece quilts and hand quilt. She was active in the White Rock Club and enjoyed the ladies she quilted with. She and Boone also enjoyed square dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Boone Moore; a son, Robert Arlen Moore; three brothers, infant baby Hinkle, Buck and Gene Hinkle; and a sister, Lorene Odom.

Survivors include a son, Lynn Moore of Cabool; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Lee Hinkle of Independence; and a host of family and friends.

Services were Monday, April 8, at Evans Funeral Home with Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Three Rivers Hospice or Union Cemetery.
