SNOW, ICE PREDICTED

A combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain moved into south-central Missouri early Tuesday evening.

Some roads in Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol were reported covered Tuesday night, but conditions quickly improved.

The mix spread north into southeast Kansas and Missouri. A brief period of moderate to heavy precipitation was received. Most main roads were clear Wednesday morning. Schools in the area, including Houston, missed another day.

If traveling, make sure to have a full tank of gas before heading out, MoDOT said. If you encounter car troubles or are involved in a crash, remain in your vehicle, it said.
