A Summersville man faces a felony charge after allegedly threatening to kill multiple people on March 5.

Tommy D. Cooper, 41, of 543 Second St. in Summersville, is charged with first-degree stalking (a class E felony) and peace disturbance (a misdemeanor).

A Summersville Police Department officer reported that he received information from a man indicating that Cooper was at a residence yelling and making death threats, and was thought to be in possession of a .22 magnum rifle.

As the officer investigated and spoke to several witnesses about Cooper, a woman stated he had been at her house high on meth and she feared for her life.

Before traveling to the scene (where Cooper was alleged to be waiting for law officers to show up), the officer requested assistance from the Texas County Sheriff’s Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol. A Special Emergency Response Team from the TCSD arrived at the scene and detained Cooper.

He was taken to the Texas County Jail and has a cash-only bond set at $5,000.
