Richard Dean Sykes, 59, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains.

He was born Aug. 7, 1959, in St. Louis, son of Leroy and Genieve Grace Tune Sykes.

He was a person of faith and attended church wherever he lived.

He was an avid outdoors man. He loved hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. He also enjoyed bluegrass music. He looked forward to visiting with his children and grandchildren, often taking grandchildren on trips to Kentucky Fried Chicken.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Genieve; a sister, Wanda; and infant brother, Keith.

Survivors include four children, Richard of Barnhart, Jennifer of Hilsboro and Nicholas of Hillsboro and Kara of Salem; his father, Leroy Sykes of Hillsboro; a brother, Dewayne Sykes of Hillsboro; a sister, Judy O’Brien of Arnold; seven grandchildren; and a host of other family members.

Services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Steelman officiating. Burial was in Oakside Cemetery.
