Texas County was the No. 4 county in the state in the spring firearms turkey season on Wednesday morning, the Missouri Department of Conservation reported.
Texas County hunters had killed 651 turkeys by early Wednesday, according to figures from the Missouri Department of Conservation.
In the county, 525 adult gobblers, 118 juvenile gobblers and eight bearded hens were harvested.
Leading the state are: Franklin (804), Callaway (704), Osage (666), Texas (651), Macon (644) and Miller (622).
In 2023, the spring firearms total in Texas County was 781.
The season ends Sunday.
