The National Weather Service says excessive heat continues across the area through late this week, with daily highs in the middle- to upper-90s.
Heat index values will reach 100 to 110+.
In Texas County, the forecast puts it under a heat advisory. Areas in western Missouri (and north of Interstate 44) are expected to receive the brunt of the hot weather, the National Weather Service says.
