A heat advisory is in effect through 7 p.m. Thursday for Texas County, the National Weather Service said.
The National Weather Service said daily highs in the 90s with afternoon heat index values around 100 to 110 are expected.
Other areas will be hotter: An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect through 7 p.m. today for areas north of I-44.
