A Houston woman was arrested Monday in West Plains on charges of delivery of a controlled substance and maintaining a public nuisance after allegedly being found in possession of methamphetamine and drug packaging materials.
Megan Lindsey Neal, 35, was arrested at 11:17 p.m. on Worcester Street and is held on $10,000 bail.
Howell County Deputy Seth Smith reported deputies and members of the South Central Drug Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant. On entering the house, the officers discovered Neal in a bathroom, allegedly attempting to flush a white, crystal-like substance down the toilet.
According to Smith, the substance was seen on the floor of the bathroom and on and in the toilet. Neal also had a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine on her.
Three sets of scales, multiple clear bags and more than 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine was reportedly seized.
Court records show Neal pleaded guilty to a 2016 charge of second-degree burglary in February and was handed a three-year suspended execution of sentence with three years supervised probation.
