Regarding the proposed amendment to the Missouri State Constitution (Amendment 3) this is what it means:
- A woman of any age (a girl under the age of majority) may have an abortion without the consent of their parent.
- Will allow an abortion to take place up to birth.
- Will eliminate all laws of the state of Missouri that require the explanation of the rights and risks associated with an abortion. This means that many women will be misled into having an abortion and may not be given information on the risks involved or alternatives that are available.
- It calls abortion “reproductive health care,” which implies that the present law does not protect women from ectopic pregnancies, which is a claim that is not true.
- It uses terms such as “fetal viability,” which is a word-smithing method of saying, “abortions are allowed until second and third trimesters.”
- It eliminates and restricts our Missouri state representatives from passing laws that eliminate abortion or the restriction of a woman from having an abortion.
- It requires the taxpayers of the state of Missouri to fund the abortion process.
I really believe that we are truly a society of protecting our own and supporting one another, not killing our unborn babies. So, please read and understand the Amendment 3 wording. I hope that you feel that life of the unborn is worth saving and investing in, not aborting.
