I need to respond to the last letter to the editor.
There was a coldness in those words that I feel need some warmth.
Let’s look at a picture. Your child comes running in crying the man down the street hurt her “down there.” Are you going to tell her it’s OK – he’s a Republican and it’s been OK for “millions of years.”
If worst of worst happens she becomes pregnant – are you going to make a call and have a Republican politician come to evaluate her health needs or are you going to rely on her pediatrician? Which of these careers has a better chance of knowing what is best for her life and future life?
Do you want your spouse in bed with you or “a” politician? Do you want your doctor in the room with you or a politician who wants to take us back to the 1870s? Just because we are female does not mean we should have less right to a competent physician at all times of our life.
I have no choice but to vote for the females in this state.

Well this letter is not politically motivated at all. Many are seeing ads that state a women will not get healthcare if there is an issue with a pregnancy. All have been exaggerations by far. If a hospital denies services to save the life of a woman or child saved during child birth there is a bigger issue at hand. It has nothing to do with abortion. I personally do not agree with abortion and believe people need to take responsibility for their actions. Not an easy way out by getting an abortion and killing an innocent life. Yes I said an innocent life. The child cannot make the decision to live or die, only the woman can. It is better to have a child then an abortion than risk the procedure being botched and not be able to ever get pregnant again. Yes I understand the cases of rape and incest are immoral and those people should be dealt with in other ways. This issue should have never been put on the ballot again as was voted on by the people of Missouri to ban abortion in the state of Missouri. There needs to be harsh laws for rape or incest maybe such as life in prison for the first offense. Really there is no easy fix but abortion is not the easy fix that everyone should turn to.
