The Houston School District’s 24th annual Veterans Tribute is set for 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, (today) in Tiger Fieldhouse.

The event – sponsored by Piney River Ford – will include singing by Houston Elementary School first-graders and a performance by an ensemble made up of members of the HHS Tiger Pride Marching Band and the Community Choir.

This year’s guest speaker will be Bob Joens, a U.S. Army veteran and long-time commander at Houston’s American Legion Post 41.

Following the event, there will be a reception with refreshments served by the Community Betterment Y.O.U.T.H. group (Youth Organization Understanding Tomorrow’s Houston).

All area U.S. military veterans are invited to attend the tribute and reception held in their honor.
