A local charity that helps children in foster care will hold a Christmas event Friday, Dec. 6.

“Fostering by Faith,” which operates from quarters at 122 W. Walnut St. in Houston, is hosting the event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (Across from the Houston Rural Fire Department station).

All foster children residing in Missouri can attend to select a free Christmas gift. Parents should bring foster paperwork at the first-come, first-served event.

There also will be a free bicycle drawing.
