The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
- A deputy was dispatched Nov. 26 regarding a report of a burglary at a Cassock Road property at Licking.
A 74-year-old man there told the officer a residence he was building at the location had been broken into, and numerous tools, construction materials and other items (with unreported value) had been stolen. There are no suspects.
- A 57-year-old Pennsylvania man reported on Nov. 17 that his son had texted him and indicated that the man’s estranged wife – a Licking resident – had used his social security number to obtain a credit card and there were charges on it and an $80 amount due.
The man said he and his wife had been apart for 14 years, and that the woman had tried to do the same thing in the past.
- On Nov. 21, a deputy was dispatched to Texas County Memorial Hospital.
Upon arrival, the officer was advised by staff that the patient – a 49-year-old Licking woman – had been transferred to another hospital. The officer was informed that the woman had been bitten by a pet raccoon, and the animal had been put down.
- Nathan R. Campbell, 42, of 6770 Millstone Road in Houston, was issued a citation on Dec. 18 for operating a motor vehicle without a license.
A deputy wrote the ticket after observing a red Dodge pickup traveling west on Highway 32 near Licking with no operable registration lights and conducted a traffic stop.
