Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported its first fatality of the year Tuesday afternoon in Shannon County. One person was killed and three injured in a U.S. 60 crash at the south junction of Highway 19 in Winona, the patrol said.

The patrol said a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Uplander driven by a 77-year-old Alton man traveled into the path of a westbound 2014 Ford Edge operated by an 18-year-old Eminence man.

The patrol said an unknown-age male was killed in the Uplander; the driver had serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

The driver of the Edge had moderate injuries and was taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains; a 16-year-old passenger was taken to Ozarks Healthcare with minor injuries.

Both vehicles were totaled. Several troopers were on scene, as was the Winona Fire Department.
