Cecil Jerome Suddeth, 72, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was born June 16, 1946, in Michigan, son of Harvey and Marcella Gilbert Sudduth.
He served in Vietnam with the Marine Corps. He was wounded in combat.
He was a graduate of Drury University. He was a member of the Bendavis Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Melvin “Tink” Sudduth and Charles Wayne “Chuck” Sudduth; and a son, Christopher Suddeth.
Survivors include five children, Andrea Wahl of Fishersville, Va., Paula McElwain of Sturgis, Mich., Scott Suddeth of Round Lake Beach, Ill., Leslie Lauritzen of Round Lake Beach, Ill., and Thomas Suddeth of Vienna, Ill.; a brother, Sherman Sudduth of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Mable Marcie Brodin of Spotsylvania, Va.; a longtime caregiver and special friend, Michael McClain; and many other family members.
Graveside services with military honors are Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Fort Leonard Wood, with Ed Williamson officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
