Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Feb. 5 and 6.

Members:

  • Approved annual road maintenance agreements for Jackson, Clinton and Cass Townships.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the transfers of Anthony Hagen to jail deputy (effective Feb. 6) and Tommy Dodd to court bailiff (effective Feb. 6).
  • Acknowledged the retirement of Melissa Emerick as full-time deputy sheriff effective Feb. 1.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Jacob Gilmour as full-time jailer effective Feb. 5.
  • Presiding Commissioner Scott Long spent time learning about the functions of the public administrator’s office.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • George Sholtz concerning landowner CWD participation received from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). He stated that several landowners listed on the “Participating” list have publicly announced that they are not cooperating/participating with MDC’s CWD culling efforts.
