Happy March and happy “Read Across America Month.”

Reading is so important for all ages. I made a resolution in January that I would try to read more, and so far I am doing better than I have in the past.  Whether you use our Libby for reading online or you check out books in the library, thank you for being a reader and passing your love of reading along to friends and family.

The new library being built in Houston has windows and doors now.  This is so exciting, and we love hearing from the community and all throughout Texas County about how excited you are, too! The question we get asked most is “when will the building be finished?” While there is no set date yet, we are hopeful that by the summer we will be able to start moving in.

For a $500 or more donation to the library foundation, your name can be placed on our donor wall as thanks for helping us achieve this wonderful dream.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 22, for Houston branch spring children’s party. We will celebrate the author Mo Willems and his wonderful books.

The next adult book club meets at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Houston branch. All are welcome and come prepared to discuss a recent book you have read.

Come check out these new arrivals.

FICTION: “Onyx Storm” by Rebecca Yarros, “The House of my Mother” by Shari Frank, “Ghost Soldier” by Clive Cussler, “Death of a Smuggler” by M.C. Beaton, “Battle Mountain” by C.J.
